Pages & Files
Pages and Files let a network admin publish their own content on the network's domain - an FAQ, a methodology note, a page about the program behind the questions, a privacy statement, or a downloadable document.
Pages
A page is content you author and serve at a URL on the network. Add one under Pages and give it:
- A title - an admin-facing label used to identify the page in the list.
-
A path - where the page is served, for example
faqordocs/methodology. Paths must be unique on the network and can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, and slashes. A handful of prefixes are reserved because the network's own pages already use them; you will be told if you pick one. - Content - authored either in a rich text editor or directly as HTML, whichever suits the page.
- A layout - how much of the network's chrome wraps the page. Full layout gives the top nav and sidebar, so the page feels like part of the signed-in experience. Header and footer only drops the sidebar, which suits a public-facing page. No layout serves the content on its own, for anything fully custom.
Visibility
Two independent switches control who sees a page:
- Published - when off, the page is a draft only admins can preview. Turn it on when it is ready.
- Public - when on, anyone can view the page without signing in. When off, visitors must sign in as a member of the network.
A page must be both published and public to be reachable by someone who is not signed in - an about page linked from an invitation email, for example.
Files
Files lets you upload a document and get a stable link on the network's domain that you can embed in a page or hand out directly. PDFs, images (PNG, JPEG, GIF), Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV, text, and RTF files are supported, up to 25 MB each.
Each file has an access mode governing who can download it using its link:
- Anyone - no sign-in required. Anyone holding the link can download the file.
- Signed-in members - only forecasters on this network.
- Admins only - restricted to network staff.
Access is checked on every download, so changing the mode takes effect immediately - a link that has already been shared stops working if you tighten it.
Use Copy link to get the URL. Removing a file breaks any page that links to it, so check before deleting.
